The Power of Far-UVC

Far-UVC is a frequency of light that destroys 99.98% of microbes in the air including colds, flus, COVID-19, MRSA and norovirus.

Pandemics are Endemic

When COVID-19 first landed on UK shores, nobody could predict the impact it would have across the nation. Now 2 years on, over 10 million cases have been confirmed.

In a survey of more than 100 experts conducted by Nature, almost 90% of respondents expect COVID-19 to become endemic, meaning that it will continue to circulate around the globe for years to come.

As we continue to live with COVID-19 and prepare for future pandemics, the need to develop effective protection is becoming increasingly important.

The Solution: Far-UVC

Since the 1920s, ultraviolet light has been used to protect people from airborne diseases such as Tuberculosis. What makes Far-UVC different is that it still has the power to destroy harmful viruses and bacteria, but it is also safe to be used in human-occupied areas.

Initially, Far-UVC was used primarily in the medical industry. Over the last decade, it is becoming more prevalent across the globe and can be used in a broad range of settings including offices, care homes, gyms, shopping malls, theatres, bars and restaurants.

Far-UVC can help us to combat the current COVID-19 pandemic and also reduce the spread of all other contagious diseases which adversely impact workplaces each year at great cost to the economy.

How it Works

Key Benefits

Reduced Viral Transmission

The technology destroys 99.98% of bacteria and viruses in the air and on surfaces, including COVID-19, flu, MRSA, SARS, C. difficile, e.Coli, MERS and norovirus, significantly reducing the spread of infection at the workplace.

Reduces Absenteeism

In 2019, absenteeism and presenteeism cost the UK economy £91.9 billion. Far-UVC technology helps organisations battle sickness in the workplace by reducing cross contamination of colds, flu and other viruses.

Environmentally-Friendly

Unlike most conventional lamps, our Far-UVC products are 100% mercury-free. It also enables disinfection without the need for strong chemical sanitisers that can be harmful to both skin and electrical equipment.

Protects Against All Variants

89.2% of people are concerned about COVID-19 variants. Far-UVC works on a molecular level, destroying all particles it encounters no matter what the variant. The technology can help us protect against upcoming virus mutations.

Confidence in Shared Spaces

74% of people are concerned about the level of COVID-19 protection available at their place of work. Far-UVC helps to restore this confidence in shared spaces by providing around the clock protection from viral transmission.

Reduced Cleaning Costs

Our Far-UVC products can significantly reduce both the time spent cleaning each day, and the costs involved in chemically sanitising workplace environments. They also help to cut down on HVAC costs by disinfecting a building's air supply.

Far-UVC is a game changer

"We really wanted to partner with Moore MedTech on the basis that we think Far-UVC technology will have a real benefit for office environments, not just at White Rose Park but also for the wider office community."

"I think once people understand the technology, it will give them confidence to return to the office."

What is the difference between UVC and Far-UVC?
The UVC spectrum ranges from 200-280nm. Regular germicidal UVC light is typically at 254nm which can be a hazardous to skin and eyes. Far-UVC operates at 222nm, meaning it is capable of destroying pathogens but is unable to penetrate our skin or eyes.
Where is Far-UVC currently used?

Far-UVC technology is most commonly used in military and medical settings, but is quickly becoming prevalent across a wide range of industries including retail, hospitality, transport, dental and manufacturing.

Here are some examples of Far-UVC being used in a range of environments:

Retail

Hospitality

Transport

Dental

Manufacturing

Does Far-UVC kill COVID-19?
Yes, Far-UVC kills COVID-19 and all of its variants. It also destroys all other harmful pathogens including SARS, norovirus, MERS, MRSA, C.difficile, salmonella and influenza.
